Enlyte Makes 10,000+ Contracts Searchable with IntelAgree
After years of M&A, Enlyte centralized 10,000+ contracts into one searchable platform, extended contracting to ~20 business users, and now uses Saige Assist to redline against playbooks, search its portfolio, and answer product questions.
“IntelAgree has a great, customizable, all-encompassing platform, and it goes beyond ease of use. It helps organizations accelerate AI adoption across users with varying levels of experience. Because AI capabilities are built directly in the platform, users benefit from them without needing to learn or manage separate AI tools.”
The challenge
About Enlyte
Enlyte provides technology, clinical, and network solutions that help insurance carriers and employers manage workers’ compensation, auto casualty, and auto physical damage claims. Its work spans the full claims journey, from medical bill review and cost containment to case management, provider networks, and pharmacy benefit management. As the parent brand of Mitchell, Genex, and Coventry, the company brings together technology, clinical and network solutions to improve claims outcomes.
Overview
When companies merge, each organization brings its own agreements, systems, and naming conventions, with no single way to name and organize contracts. After years of mergers and acquisitions, Enlyte has a portfolio that now runs to more than 10,000 contract documents.
Before IntelAgree, answering a question about an existing agreement meant reviewing contracts and amendments one at a time, while signing and filing routed through just two people. Today, the entire portfolio is searchable, and every member of the commercial contracting team can independently send contracts for signature.
Roughly 30 users, including business teams outside legal, now work directly in IntelAgree. The platform has become the team’s single source of truth, with everyone building from the same 16 standardized templates. Saige Assist, IntelAgree’s generative AI-based contract copilot, now helps them search their contract portfolio, redline against their playbooks, and draft new agreements. Saige Assist’s suggestions come from the team’s own standards and past agreements, so they reflect how Enlyte actually works.
Challenges
- Years of accumulated legacy agreements, searchable only through manual review
- Signature and filing dependent on two people, limiting the wider team’s independence
- Inconsistent naming, with drafts and signed contracts spread across multiple systems
The solution
Saige Assist at Every Step, From Draft to Signature
Much of the team’s day-to-day contract work now runs through Saige Assist. Team members highlight a provision to see how it compares with their own playbook language, ask it to draft or revise, or pose a product related question and get an answer without submitting a support request to IntelAgree.
For Melanie Hartsock, Senior Contract Specialist at Enlyte, it has also become a way to learn.
“It gives me the independence and the confidence to redline contract documents with fewer escalations to more senior members of the legal team.”
IntelAgree takes much of the administrative busy work out of everyday contract work. “What IntelAgree gets right more than anything is the day-to-day user experience. The platform brings together everything needed to analyze, review, edit, organize, collaborate, execute and save contracts in a single place,” said Steven Ramey, Commercial Contracting Team Member at Enlyte. “You can get a contract done, start to finish, without having to go outside of it.”
Working with stakeholders also used to mean emailing versions back and forth. Now, the team uses IntelAgree’s co-editing feature to collaborate.
“Having a single document where stakeholders can review, comment, and provide input in one place is really helpful. It’s made collaboration much more efficient.”
Two people used to manage every signature and all the filing. Now anyone on the team can send a document for signature. Each signed contract uploads to SharePoint automatically under a consistent naming convention, instead of the team saving copies manually in different places.
Turning Years of Legacy Agreements into a Searchable Record
Enlyte’s contracting team now searches across more than 10,000 contract documents in a single platform. That archive runs deep with legacy contracts, stacked up over years of mergers and acquisitions.
Those documents captured everything Enlyte had agreed to, but the team could not readily search them. A single customer might hold several contracts across different parts of the organization, some with as many as 15 amendments built up over a decade-long relationship.
Before IntelAgree, answering customer contract-related questions meant manually reviewing each contract and amendment. Now, when a business stakeholder requests a review of contracts, or when the company weighs a new initiative or policy, the team runs searches to ascertain what Enlyte has agreed to.
Iris Mitrakos, Associate General Counsel at Enlyte, runs those searches constantly.
“This has been game-changing for us — the ability to readily search our existing contracts with customers or vendors when we need to quickly understand something.”
Turning Everyday Contracts into Self-Service Enablement
Enlyte’s seven-person commercial contracting team is part of the company’s legal team and handles the contracts the business signs — around 130 requests a month, submitted through a ticketing system. For years, every one of those requests ran by the contracting team’s desk.
With IntelAgree, the contracting team made self-service possible for other parts of the business. The contracting team vetted the groups that were ready and trained them to use the platform. Those groups now draft legal and business approved templates and route their own agreements from start to finish, instead of submitting a ticket for each one. “We’ve built workflows where legal is just an escalation point,” said Mitrakos. “It allows us to move on to other work that’s more consequential.”
IntelAgree’s learning and optimization sessions also helped the team expand faster, particularly a session on onboarding new users. Around 20 business users now work in the platform, with more expected by the end of the summer. “There’s real value in having others in the tool, not just our legal team,” said Hartsock.
More than a year in, Ramey has a clear view of what IntelAgree delivers. “IntelAgree has a great, customizable, all-encompassing platform, and it goes beyond ease of use,” he said. “It helps organizations accelerate AI adoption across users with varying levels of experience. Because AI capabilities are built directly in the platform, users benefit from them without needing to learn or manage separate AI tools.”
